GradIFigueroa

- On July 13, 2023, Iraisy Figueroa concluded her Master's degree in Industrial Informatics and Robotics with the defense of her graduation project, Optimización de parámetros de co-simulación de sistemas mecánicos utilizando técnicas de inteligencia artificial (in Spanish). In this project, artificial intelligence algorithms were applied to the correction of interface discontinuities in explicit co-simulation setups.

GradEVazquez

- On July 11, 2023, Eloy Vázquez defended his graduation project in Mechanical Engineering, Diseño de una solución de sensorización para un banco de ensayos de motores eléctricos (in Spanish). This project consisted in the definition and implementation of sensing solutions for the cyber-physical test bench of the Lab, in the context of the G-Twimbauto project and our collaboration with GKN Automotive Zumaia.

GradRMartinez

- On July 7, 2023, Raquel Martínez defended her graduation project in Mechanical Engineering, Reconstrucción morfológica de células neuronales usando ondas acústicas generadas mediante el acoplamiento termodinámico de ondas electromagnéticas (in Spanish), carried out in collaboration with LIM and Prof. Jose Martinez's SICA-Lab at Northeastern University in Boston.

2022

BigBench

- Our cyber-physical test bench for automotive-grade eMotors entered operation on December 2022, thanks to our collaboration with GKN Automotive Zumaia and the development of the G-Twimbauto project, funded by Xunta de Galicia. The progress in this research was reported by La Voz de Galicia in this article (in Spanish).

MBD2022

- It has been my pleasure to deliver a lecture on co-simulation methods in the 4th International Multibody System Dynamics Workshop & Summer School, organized by Politecnico di Milano and Università di Parma, on September 14, 2022. I am very grateful to Profs. Pierangelo Masarati and Alessandro Tasora for their kind invitation to participate in this event.

2021

Thesis

- On December 17, Borja Rodríguez Frade defended his PhD thesis entitled Multiphysics Simulation and Model-Based System Testing of Automotive E-Powertrains.

GNIGHT

- LIM participated in G-NIGHT, the Galician chapter of the European Researchers' Night, on September 24, 2021. We presented a prototype of a cyber-physical test bench for electric motors, integrated within a vehicle simulator, to general audiences from Ferrol.

COSIM2020

- COSIM 2021, an International Symposium on Co-Simulation and Solver Coupling in Dynamics, endorsed by IMSD and IUTAM was organized by LIM researchers on May 24-25, 2021. The event was held online due to the travel restrictions in force at the time.

STEMBACH2020

- Pedro Vidal, from Tirso de Molina High School (Ferrol), performed the online defense of his STEM Bach project Ajuste del controlador de un vehículo tipo Segway mediante simulación e implementación del controlador en un vehículo real a escala reducida, carried out under the direction of LIM researchers, on April 9, 2021.

Banquito

BANQUITO, a scaled prototype of a cyber-physical test bench for electric motors, became operational in 2021 and was showcased in G-NIGHT.

2020

IDETC2020

- The 16th International Conference on Multibody Systems, Nonlinear Dynamics, and Control (MSNDC) was held online on August 17-19, 2020. This year, ASME's IDETC/CIE conference series went virtual due to travel and safety restrictions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

K-LIM-08

- K-LIM-08, LIM's research prototype, got retired on March 2020, after 24 years of service to research in Mechanical Engineering. The vehicle will remain on permanent display at the Lab's facilities. More details can be found on this article in La Voz de Galicia (in Spanish).

STEMBACH2020

- Marta de Castro and Henar Mariño, students from Sofía Casanova High School (Ferrol), completed and defended their STEM Bach project entitled Simulación del movimiento de un vehículo tipo Segway para el ajuste de su controlador, carried out under the direction of LIM researchers. The defense took place on January 23, 2020, at the Escuela Politécnica Superior of the University of A Coruña.
